Staying ahead with Workiva

A few weeks ago, some of our team attended the Workiva Amplify EMEA conference in Barcelona. It was an inspiring event filled with insights on global reporting trends, compliance complexity and the future of connected reporting. We rounded up the key takeaways and moments that stood out for us.

Nuggets and networking

While a conference of this size can initially seem overwhelming we thoroughly enjoyed meeting up with Workiva specialists and global agencies, all the while sharing info and having meaningful discussions around the industry in which we work. Lovely to know that the agencies on the tip of Africa are in the same boat as the rest of the world.

The conference day ended with a highly insightful interview with keynote speaker, Dean Forbes (CEO of Forterro, a leader in software solutions for the industrial market). He was inspiring, humble and even gave some pointers in the challenges of parenting children who are growing up in very different circumstances. Something we could all learn from.

Design and CSRD

Our favourite session of the conference involved how AI is leading the next evolution of digital reporting. With a fabulous panel of experts from various agencies in the UK, Finland and Germany, we were given some insights into the use of HTML reports in Europe and the UK and how AI is influencing how the investment community is searching and consuming data, furthering the case for digital reports as essential rather than ‘nice-to-haves’.

The other session we enjoyed was the learnings of year one from CSRD and how companies, together with agencies, are wading through the compliance while at the same time trying to produce reports that retain a narrative around performance and strategy for the past year. Like any major compliance update it will take companies some time to figure out the best way of delivering this information and agencies will adapt to the more rigid layout and approach that CSRD requires.

Workiva updates

The Workiva stations, talks and staff were fantastic and we learnt all about the upcoming innovations in the wings, how to further simplify the process and how we can work together to assist our mutual clients.

See you next year in London!
